English-Language Immersion

Grades 7 to 12

A leader in the field since 1905, NMH Summer’s English-Language Immersion program has welcomed students from over 130 countries for an unforgettable summer of growth, exploration, and friendship.

Our proven 4-week program offers middle and high school students a unique opportunity to build their skills and confidence in English while exploring the best of American culture.

From reading novels and writing stories to engaging in lively class discussions, you’ll develop your language skills in a mastery-based, student-centered environment that makes learning challenging, fun, and successful.

Beyond the classroom, you’ll experience an authentic slice of American life, with activities that range from cheering at baseball games to ordering at local restaurants with confidence, all while sharing these moments with new friends from across the globe. With excursions to exciting destinations — such as historic Salem, Massachusetts; the Emily Dickinson Museum; and even the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston — you’ll strengthen your command of English and connect with cultural and historic treasures that deepen your understanding of the U.S. and its people.

Set on Northfield Mount Hermon's stunning New England campus, our well-respected English-Language Immersion program offers state-of-the-art facilities, 24/7 care and support, and access to arts, athletics, and outdoor activities with a welcoming, vibrant community, 24/7 care and support, and access to countless activities, athletics, and outdoor adventures.

Our warm, and experienced teachers are dedicated to ensuring every student’s experience is enriching and unforgettable, setting the foundation for success in high school, college, and beyond. Join us this summer and immerse yourself in an experience that will build skills, confidence, character, and friendships to last a lifetime!
